The breeze rolled on and kissed my cheek.
She ran her fingers through my hair,
And a shiver down my spine.
She told me, "Life is almost over,

The waves came down and broke my bones.
And the wind took my final breath.
The pain seeped in through the cracks in my heart.
Teardrops echoed through my mind.
And the stars lit up the sky,
Reflected off my streaming eyes.
And the melody called me back to the night,
Brought to tears by the mysteries of life.
Oh, my god.
A voice rose up and caught my ear.
She said, "leave them be,
There's nothing left for you here".
I saw my life through the eyes of my own mother,
And I heard my songs through the ears of the ones who inspired them.
And the stars lit up the sky,
Reflected off my streaming eyes.
And the melody called me back to the night,
Brought to tears by the mysteries of life.
I felt the hearts I broke,

The tears fell down from the open sky.
